I think I'm just starting to see the character in this, I'll have some tweaks to do, but I kinda can see him, the person. I'll post that satchel bag as its own ztool, because I like how it came out and its so simple.

figure from a sphere
I haven't done a full figured character from a sphere in a little bit, so I decided to start one. Its very scary and freeing at the same time, and recommend (after mastering what makes a good base mesh) to attempt a full character from a sphere. Anywho I capped it off tonight at about two hours fifteen min (those pants took some thinking about). Theres a lot of tweaks to be done, but I'm done for tonight.

Pixologic's Turntable Gallery
Pixologic sent some love my way, by asking me to be in the turntable gallery. They wrote some nice things about me, and I can't say enough nice things about them. They truly are a company that cares.
As someone who has done beta work with them for years, I know first hand that this company is one who's focus is always on the artist and the art they create. You can check out my turntable gallery here

4 AM lunch crunch
Decided to take a break from the Andy, and do something organic again. this time a 4 AM lunch crunch like old times. From a sphere dynameshed, unfinished cut it off at at the 1hr 45 min mark, mainly because I had to keep stopping to figure out where the heck this was going.

Andy
wanted to try something different. so I decided to try to conceptualize a "mock up" android child. Supposed to look like a the prototype before its polished up. I stopped it at an hour, because I didn't know what to do and I felt like I was adding far too much crap. so I'll just post it here and update after a few more crunches.

Grandma
Just a quick mock up, gonna throw it in maya and see how it goes. So I took an old model of mine I did way back of a man laughing. It was honestly just a gestural sketch. I was cleaning up my old hard drive when I found it. I decided to take an hour and half to finish it. The model itself took about an hour of additional work, and then 30 min to set up materials and render. Mind you this is from an old already finished model, so time take that into consideration of time.

3D Total Gallery
I was fortunate enough to have my piece "In the Time" accepted into the 3Dtotal character gallery, They also accepted my creature piece for publication but thats later on. 3Dtotal is a great site with many publications and works to their name.
With this came the endorsement of the 3D total excellence award, something I really like the look of, and so wear it proudly on the right side of this blog :)

4 AM speed sculpt
Gah can sleep, 4 AM again haha. I decided to go off of someone else's reference, this time peter boehme. This was "inspired" by, I wasn't trying to recreate it (I'm too drained for that). 1 hour 25 min, I wanted to paint the color on there in that time, so the sculpt itself is a bit sloppy, but like I care :P Material is a combo of three different zmats I had prepared in beta. I have this one recorded, I'll post the vid soon.

Militant Update
decided to put a little more time in this and attempt to do skin shading in BPR, as well as revamp the face, textures, and begin detailing the cloth a bit.

Blacksmith Dwarf 2 hour sculpt (from a sphere) WIP
I wanted to play with fibers and so I did a blacksmith Dwarf 2 hour sculpt WIP. Sculpted asymmetrically from a sphere (I'm getting quicker). Its a work in progress just wanted to show where I'm at at the 2 hour mark. It'll be part of a larger set, though I don't want to spoil anything. I'll just say he looks pretty grumpy :P

Wizard dudes last stand, 3AM sculpt
Been slightly sick, so heres another 3AM sleepless sculpt. This sculpt is done asymmetrically, meaning no symmetry turn on at any time during this sculpt, because of that my time went from 1 hour to two, but I really think it helps improve your hand and understand how forms flow. Anywho: two hours from a sphere, no symmetry, wizard dude's last stand, 2 hours time includes prop creation. if you guys want to see the sculpting vid I'll post it. I kept redoing parts of the model over and over so thats what added to the time :/ oh well I'm sick so deal :P

Textures and Cortana
I did a bit of a texture test over my lunch, just to see what I might want to do with this thing.
If any of you were following me on twitter last night, you know that before I went to sleep I decided to start a female from a sphere, well I passed out last night haha, and ended up doing the rest of the model now, I turned it into a Cortana sketch, I have hair sculpted but I'm holding off because I'm not happy with it. But yea a quick little doodle, I decided to take some liberties with here, especially when it came to suit design, because frankly Im grouchy in the evening and who the hell wants to paint lines on a model? So I took the suit design from a few of the titles (I must admit I don't play halo) and the pose was inspired by a piece done by scott fisher (modified heavily though, I dont like using other artists concepts for reference when I don't have to)
About a little less than 2.5 hours from sphere to textured image (mainly because of that damned suit) I might add some stuff and render her out,
